The Barcelo was a wonderful find. A small boutique hotel in the Jewish quarter of the city, right in the middle of a busy area with plenty of stores and food nearby. I especially appreciated an excellent vegan restaurant less than a block away. Also very close to a subway stop, the pickup place for the hop on, hop off bus, and the city's visitor center. The Danube was just a short walk away. The staff at check-in were exceptionally helpful, giving a great start to our stay. The style of elevator, which is now common in many hotels, requires a card key to access. But they also required you to select your floor before boarding the elevator, which meant you frequently had no need to share the space with others - it felt very safe. The room was well appointed, with a comfortable bed; though the default cover was a thin duvet, which was too cold at night, due to the habit of the air conditioner resetting itself to a low temperature. We weren't sure if that was a fault, or by design, but since we were there for only two nights, we just added the supplied extra duvet to the bed. The rooftop bar, while very small, was a great place for a drink, with a walk-up viewing platform for panoramic views of the city. Complimentary coffee, tea and drinking water in the room were refreshed daily. Overall, we wouldn't fault this gem of a hotel, and would certainly return in the future.

I recently stayed at Barceló Budapest during the F1 race at Hungaroring and had a fantastic experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was comfortable and impeccably clean, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. We requested a third bed, and it was made up for us every day, which was a thoughtful touch that added to our comfort. The hotel's location was perfect—right in the heart of the bar district, some noise at night but it didn't keep us up. This made it easy for us to enjoy the lively atmosphere without being disturbed when we wanted to rest. Being within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions was incredibly convenient and allowed us to make the most of our stay. Many restaurants, cafes and bakeries to chose from walking distance from hotel. Overall, Barceló Budapest offered a wonderful blend of comfort, service, and location. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area and looking for a memorable stay.

Great location. The room was not so big but enough for us as a couple. We enjoyed its balcony at night, as it provided a quiet, refreshing spot in the center of the city. Bed and pillows were very comfy. AC worked well, no sound at all. But what impressed us the most was absolutely the breakfast. Just wonderful. We had our expectations after reading related reviews on here but we were also cautious about our expectations since we come from Türkiye which has a very rich breakfast culture. We usually get disappointed in European hotels/hostels/bnb’s etc when it comes to breakfast. Even the ones promoted as “the top” just don’t meet our standards. But Barceló!!! Everything about the food was perfect: freshness, variety, plentitude, taste, presentation, atmosphere. Phenomenal. Thanks to all staff for this experience :)

The location was perfect, just down the street from the airport express bus stop and the metro station at the city's centre, and close to the Basilica and Opera House. We walked to all other attractions as Budapest is a very walkable city, but you could take the Metro if you wanted as it was so close. The room was furnished to a high standard and was modern, clean and comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, and the rooftop bar was nice for a drink after returning from a day's sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helpful when we asked to leave our bags before check in and after check out. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the hotel for anyone staying in Budapest.

Clean, Elegant Hotel, Close to Everything! We stayed at this hotel for 10 days and enjoyed every moment. Our room was spacious with a huge, comfortable bed, and it was a pleasure to return to the hotel each day to relax. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, offering a rich variety of delicious foods. The location of the hotel is simply perfect—close to everything! All the hotel staff were kind and warm, making us feel very welcome. We especially want to mention Cshba, the bartender, who shared fascinating stories about Budapest and gave us a great recommendation for thermal baths. Highly recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future!
